Free Speech Apologist Technologies taken from forthcoming album FLOWERS FOR S.
Usse, in collaboration with H. de Heutz' Nathan Medema and The Groovemasters' Damon Levine, presents Free Speech Apologist Technologies, the latest single for our upcoming new record FLOWERS FOR S., respectively channeling a continuum of the MC5, African Head Charge and Sun Ra, refracted through the Usse dub chamber.
Speaking of dub, on its B-side, we find Christian Right Object, deconstructing last Summer's Hegemony single A-side. Sister single to Hegemony, FSAT itself is the original source code to Hegemony's own B-side, The Obfuscator. Extending this flipped script to both singles' artwork, we find ourselves moving from homogeneous cityscape, into even colder, harder outer limits of space and location.
FSAT is concerned with mechanisms of authority and suppression, extolled under facile, outmoded Eurocentric conceptions of "rights". Taken together, our single begs the question of those in narrow argument over speech or religion, is your alignment against people's very lives and existence a more palatable "freedom" to you, than that of your alignment with white supremacists, trolls and terrorists?
Free Speech Apologist Technologies releases online and in extremely limited quantity on cassette. Watch for FLOWERS FOR S. to be released June 27 on EXTRA FINAL.
